Science Behind The Temple - Part 3 | Why Temple Has Bells?

Updated: Oct 30

If you haven't read Part 2 then kindly read the previous part to have a better understanding of this blog.

Almost every temple in India has a giant bell at the entrance that one supposed to ring before entering the temple. Have you ever been curious while looking at the bell that why this piece of metal hanged there and why we ring it!

Human brains have millions of neurons that react differently to every different kind of sound vibrations. Listening to certain kinds of sound vibrations can make you feel energized and at the same time, some other sound vibrations can make you feel sad too.

When the bell sound happens your brain is emptied of all thoughts. Invariably, your mind moves to a state of trans where you are very receptive. This trans-state is the moment your inner self hits with inner awareness. Normally, you are so messed up in mind that the only way to awaken you is with a shock!

The sound vibrations coming from a perfectly made bell can actually heal your mind and somewhat your molecules cells too. Based on this science, Tibetan Monks use singing bowls to get into a meditative state and they also use it as a therapy and healing tool, the singing bowls are also made of exactly those metals which used in a bell. These bells are not built from ordinary metals, but different varieties of them, including cadmium, lead, copper, zinc, nickel, chromium and manganese.

The proportion at which all these things are mixed is the real science behind making a bell. Each of these bells are constructed to produce such a distinct sound that it can create harmony between your left and right brains. When you shake and ring that bell, it generates sharp but lasting sound vibrations that last for a minimum of seven seconds in echo mode long enough to touch your seven healing centers or trigger points in your body.

The bell works as an antidote to the chaos of your mind. Before you visit the temple it prepares you for the calm taste of spiritual awareness you are going to experience.
